One Word to Guide Your Year
As we head into 2025, I'm continuing my tradition of choosing a single word to guide the year instead of making traditional New Year's resolutions. This year, my word is Growth. 🌱

Choosing a word for the year has become a popular alternative to traditional New Year's resolutions. Many people find that selecting a single word to guide their year provides clarity and focus, helping them stay motivated and aligned with their goals.
For the last 11 years, I have made it my practice to carefully choose a word that will serve as my driving force for the year to come. This process has changed how I engage with people and take on projects. It has allowed me to gain a clearer sense of who I am and what I want to achieve, leading me to become a better person, mother, communicator, and leader.
Personal growth has always been important to me. It’s why I started this process in the first place. I was struggling with work-life balance, and it was affecting me personally and professionally. When I changed my way of thinking, it changed my life!
Over the years, my words have been Gratitude, Commitment, Focus, Simplify, Balance, Meraki, Embrace, Align, Forward, Bloom, and Persist. Each of these words has allowed me to find a new perspective on my work, my family, and my daily purpose. While a new word chooses me each year, the previous year’s word stays with me and affects the choices I make each day.
The word that chose me for 2025 is Growth. 🌱
Sharing this process with everyone in your circle—work, family, friends—can be incredibly powerful. It’s a simple yet profound way to stay focused and inspired throughout the year. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter!
