Celebrating 29 Years in the Manufactured Housing Industry!

On January 2, 2025, I will celebrate my 29th anniversary in the manufactured housing industry! Reflecting on this incredible journey, I feel truly fortunate to have worked with some of the leading companies in the field. I am deeply grateful for the privilege of meeting and collaborating with so many brilliant and amazing individuals. I am excited to share my story with you.

The Beginning

In 1996, while attending college and expecting my first child, I took a part-time administrative job at a senior community owned by Manufactured Home Communities, Inc. (now Equity Lifestyle Properties). This part time job unexpectedly blossomed into a lifelong career that I love.

Soon after starting, I embraced additional responsibilities and enjoyed learning about the community and industry. Within a year, I was promoted to full-time administrative assistant, and I even took on sales and management duties when needed.

Growing and Learning

In 1998, I was promoted and relocated to the regional office, becoming the Qualifying Party for the company’s sales dealership in Arizona. I was legally responsible for all sales transactions and the escrow account, which expanded my industry knowledge.

The company was growing rapidly, and so were my responsibilities. We added additional properties in Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and Washington. I learned the laws for each area, audited sales paperwork, and documented processes for employees. I enjoyed creating training materials and conducting classes for onsite teams, helping them grow alongside me.

Embracing New Challenges

In 1999, I was promoted to Regional Assistant, collaborating with regional assistants and vice presidents to develop policies and procedures, create manuals, and manage lease administration and training. I also coordinated regional meetings and team-building events.

In 2000, I became the Lease Administrator for the western U.S., initially handling 30+ communities, which grew to over 70. I worked with regional vice presidents, legal counsel, financial analysts, and onsite teams to manage rent increases, lease renewals, and new rental agreements.

Leadership and Innovation

In August 2003, I joined Hometown America as the Division Coordinator for the Western Region. Shortly after, the company expanded significantly, and the Western Region grew from 6 to over 30 communities. Over the next five years, I worked with the home office and Division Presidents to develop and implement new policies and procedures, creating training materials and providing both onsite and virtual training.

In 2008, I was promoted to Regional Manager, initially overseeing six communities in California. Over the next ten years, I integrated 16 new communities into my region, managed budgets, recruited and trained staff, and oversaw sales and marketing. I also attended and spoke at industry conferences and served on the board for the Manufactured Home Communities of Arizona (MHCA), staying connected with industry changes and challenges.

A New Chapter

Seeking growth, I joined Inspire Communities as Associate Director, Property Management in March 2018. Starting with 24 communities, the company more than doubled in size during my two years. I recruited, hired, coached, and trained six Regional Managers and other key staff, completed due diligence for new acquisitions, and optimized property management software.

In April 2020, I joined ManageAmerica as Senior Vice President of Operations, later becoming SVP Customer Success in 2022. Despite being a long-time user of the software, I discovered there was much more behind the scenes and helped customers learn about and utilize the many features available to them. I led the Customer Support and Implementation teams, deployed Salesforce and Service Cloud, implemented a Knowledge Base that helped to reduce case counts, and shorten case response times.

Looking Forward

In May of 2024, I launched my own consulting firm, a dream that had been years in the making. After nearly three decades in the manufactured housing industry, working with brilliant individuals and successful companies, I felt it was time to share my knowledge and expertise on a broader scale.

My journey has been fueled by a deep passion for the industry and a commitment to continuous learning and growth. Throughout my career, I've always pushed myself to be the best version of myself, embracing new challenges and opportunities. This drive not only helped me grow but also inspired those around me to strive for excellence. Seeing this collective growth has been incredibly rewarding and motivates me every day.

Now, as a consultant, I am excited to help my clients achieve their goals. I aim to ensure they are maximizing the potential of their software stack and making a positive impact on their businesses. My approach is rooted in collaboration and innovation, and I am eager to work with clients to create tailored solutions that drive success.
